My parents had 9 children:
 
1. Karoline [

I do not know the dates of her birth and death. She was of weak constitution and died when she was 18

years old. I remember that my mother suffered for many years from the death of her oldest daughter. She was buried in Nümbrecht.
 
2. Louise, born 15.1. 1842, died 27.5.1921
For more than 40 years she was the orphans' nanny in the orphans' asylum in Nümbrecht. She was one of the best known persons in that county because of her splendid character. She did good deeds where she could do and her life was devoted to the poor and abandoned. She was a truely Christian woman.

Amalie

, born 10.8.1843, died 12.5.1892
married to

Christian Heinrich Müller

, both of them are buried on the cemetery of the Evangelical Reformed Church in Elberfeld. Heinrich Müller was a building craftsman and had a good business. They had 10 children, 5

sons and 5 daughters. They all lived in good circumstances.

4. Lisette, born 7.8.1845, died 8.9.1890
She was buried on the Nümbrecht cemetery. Her first marriage was with Wilhelm Heim in Heringhausen. She had 6 daughters, 3 with the first husband and 3 with the second.
 
5. Emilie, born 1.9.1847, died 21.2.1907
She stayed unmarried after an engagement was cancelled.

Ferdinand

, born 17.3. 1851, died during the [

He was a mason and left Germany with his wife and 2 children and immigrated to the USA.
There he went into business for himself and did good work.
 
7. Eleonore, born 28.9.1853, died 31.5.1920
She was married twice and had 3 children with her first husband und 4 with her second.

Wilhelm

(the author of this chronicle), born 14.6.1856
Married to Amalie Parker. He was in the railway service and has 2 sons and 1 daughter [Emmy Simon].
 
9. Heinrich, born 7.1.1860
He was married to Lina Dahlhaus and has 2 sons and 3 daughters.
