Gertrude, Robert and Daisy were guests at the installation of the Maharajah of Bahawalpur, quite a high point in her trip; Robert was there officially, as a civil servant. This gives the tiny elephants on the card more importance.
 
In the card, they are shown at the Delhi Durbar – there were three; this would of course have been the 1903 Durbar.
